Eindelijk is het stukje schuim aangekomen om de rode wijnvlek te camoufleren op een van de tafels van de expositie. Tentoonstellingsontwerp van playmobiel is gemaakt door Wiebe Boonstra (Brandnewbrand, voorheen Dumoffice). Naast de inrichting wilde ik graag 'iets fysieks' door de tentoonstelling heen. Het is een concept geworden met bellende mensfiguren, die net een stuk groter zijn dan wij (2.20 m hoog). De figuren zijn gemaakt van (geluidsisolerend) framefoam en van dit materiaal heeft Wiebe ook tafels en mooi eenvoudige krukken ontworpen, waarvan er lekker veel in de zalen staan verspreid. Alhoewel ik meer met beeldende kunst vertrouwd ben, raak ik steeds meer gefascineerd door design. Of eigenlijk het gebied waarin beide elkaar (kunnen) kruisen. Niet door design als autonoom te beschouwen maar eerder door beeldende kunst als ‘decoratie’ toe te passen. Leve de decoratie!
